ORPE Human Rights Advocate's primary goal is equipping and empowering transformational leaders expected to be strong enough and wise enough to advocate and implement policies deemed to transform organizations, communities, and a nation for the befit of people. The organization is engaged in providing training to advocates  expected to strive for a democratic participative process resulting in a written constitution expected to explicitly set out the separation of powers between the Executive, the Legislature and the Judiciary in unobserved rule of law nations. It explicitly focuses on the determination the divisions and limitations of powers between central and local governments.

We are passionate, purpose-driven, and advocates, with proven ability to work across bipartisan lines, bringing ideological divides to influence and produce favorable legislative results.

 

We have deep understanding of the “nuts and bolts” of advocacy within the Federal Government, and European Union, and International Officials. We apply a wide range of strategies and techniques to raise the profile of key issues and influence legislation in a favorable way – securing or blocking passage and influencing language and policies. 

 

Proven leadership and skillful in bridging the political spectrum - working with Republicans, Democrats, Liberals, as well as the faith and progressive communities, European Union officials, international government officials. We expect organizing and lead teams of interdisciplinary colleagues in the achievement of diverse legislative and grassroots initiatives, spearheading large coalitions comprised of ideological diverse groups and individuals, and partners on key issues with celebrities and filmmakers. Our actions include establishing Coalition Leadership; Policy Analysis, Strategy & Vision; Thought Leadership; Government Affairs & Advocacy; Congressional Briefings & Hearings; Grassroots Lobbying; Media & Social Media Strategy; U.S. & Global Relations; Budget Planning.

As advocates, we leverage extensive governmental and legal experience combined with proven ability to build bridges across partisan and ideological divides to find common ground, build coalitions, and achieve advocacy goals, and drive policy change using federal legislative, administrative, and regulatory processes. Work on and lead interdisciplinary teams to drive reform efforts and passage of a variety of landmark legislation, ranging from juvenile justice racial/socioeconomic disparities in the criminal justice system to education, housing, disabilities rights: key activities include: prepare and deliver congressional testimony; Lobby Congress, their Staff, and administration officials; and Brief Congressional and Executive Branch Staffs.

We advocates and build policy coalitions. We organize and lead coalitions and alliances. Research and draft legal memoranda.

Selected accomplishment include influenced outcome of federal legislation and spurred executive branch and agency action. Led advocacy efforts that helped depoliticize and raise priority level of key reform legislation by Congress and the Obama Administration; partnered with a diverse coalition and stakeholders to achieve passage of housing Act, 2010. Executed political campaign and won historical bipartisan support, achieving a unanimous vote across both the U.S. House and the Senate before being signed into law by the President.

 

Achieved behind - the - scene civil liberties victories on legislation debated on the floor. Led team in response to highly publicized proposed legislation after the California tragedy. Worked closely with the Senate Judicial Committee and successfully lobbied against inclusion new mandatory minimum sentences.

 

Advocated for the inclusion of language in comprehensive immigration reform bill that passed the Senate. Successfully opposed legislation amendment through a variety of strategies that include extensive outreach on Capitol Hill and winning the signatory support of 200* organizations on a letter of opposition.
