Humanitarian Response

Partnering with USAID and Joining International Effort of System Deliverly to Assist Millions of People Affected by Crisis.

During the last three decades, there have been rare years where droughts, floods, hurricanes, and other natural disasters did not strike. Many nations have faced disasters that in most cases affect approximately 100 million people and cause more than $100 billion dollars in economic damage. Today, 78 million people across 45 countries are in need of emergency food assistance. Authoritarian regimes still dominate. Their leaders still govern nearly 50 countries, while the same number of countries are affected by conflict or potential instability.

Poverty and conflict are inextricably linked to authoritarianism and poor governance, with the consequences for citizens only worsening during times of crisis.

Countries like Nigeria, Iraq, Yemen, and South Sudan have left tens of millions in need of assistance caused by conflicts while Syria entered the sixth year of a brutal civil war that has destroyed entire communities and affected far too many lives. Just as we have in these countries, Orpe Human Rights Advocates remains committed to contributing to the process that provides a response to crises around the world. It is engaged in joining the effort of the community of partners engaged in the process of helping the people and places most in need.

With a focus on disaster prevention, response, recovery, and transition, we work on addressing the following issues:

Providing humanitarian assistance in times of need is the fundamental reflection of our core American values.

We're engaged in providing:

  • Emergency assistance to millions of people victims of disasters.

  • We partner with USAID, the World Food Organization and provide food assistance in the form of food, cash transfer for food, and food vouchers to millions of people in several countries.

  • Prepared to contribute to the process of preventing conflict and mitigate the impact of unanticipated complex crises with targeted programs in countries of conflicts.
