Who We Help

Serving others is what is at the heart of our work and our faith. For the Orpe Human Rights Advocates, serving others means supporting a virtually boundless variety of projects deemed to lift people living in poverty, from the status of insufficient income to the status of self-sufficient income; it means that promoting projects that restore human dignity; it means that advocating for the sake of those whose human rights are being impaired.

It does mean that:

  • For homeless, at risk homelessness, and veterans: together, with partners, government agencies, and communities, we work together to ensure that these citizens are being treated fairly are involved in OHRA's self-efficacy and self-sufficient income programs deemed to lift their status from the status of insufficient income to the status of self-sufficient income.

  • For asylum/ refugee seekers: together, with partners and communities, we work to ensure that everybody has the right to seek asylum and find safe refuge in another country. We also strive to secure lasting solutions.

  • For children, families, and individuals in the state of distress, it means that, together, with partners and communities, we work to ensure that everybody has the right to dignity and to enjoy the life without discrimination based on race, origins ethics, nationality, religion, sex orientation, or age. We also strive to secure lasting solutions.

  • Orpe Human Rights Advocates is expected of helping hundreds of people to restart their lives. They include refugees, returnees, the internally displaced and asylum-seekers. Our protection, shelter, health and education has been crucial, healing broken pasts and building brighter futures.
