UN Agencies

As humanitarian crises have become more and more complex, Orpe Human Rights Advocates will be expanding its relationships with United Nations Agencies. We will be working closely with UN agencies, in which our works would complement or converges with the works of the UN agencies, and other nonprofit partners.

Most important among these are the UNCHR, the World Food Program (WFP), the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the World Health Organization (WHO), the UN Development Program (UNDP), the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and the Joint UN Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS).

OHRA is also committed to working closer with other agencies through the “Delivering as One” initiative, which aims at improving cooperative UN action in the areas of development, humanitarian assistance and the environment. Additionally, we will be embracing the “cluster approach” to IDP (internally displaced people) emergencies, whereby different agencies take the lead in their area of expertise while working together to help those in need. We partner with UNHCR for many programs associated with protection and shelter needs, and camp coordination and management.

ORPE would be contributing to help ensure the orderly and humane management in times of humanitarian crises and to promote international cooperation on the issues associated with restoring human dignity, to assist in the search for practical solutions to the poverty problems, and to contribute in providing humanitarian assistance to migrants in need and internally displaced people.
